Publication ethics

Article Publication Terms

The journal accepts previously unpublished articles in Kazakh, English, or Russian that are relevant to the journal's scope and are formatted strictly according to the article formatting requirements.

The manuscript of an article must be submitted to the journal's editorial board by the corresponding author (selected from the authors' group if there are two or more co-authors) no later than the first day of the last month of the quarter. Articles containing at least 3,000 words and no more than 9,000 words are accepted for publication in the journal.

The manuscript must be uploaded via the electronic platform by the corresponding author, indicating all information about the article and its authors.

Authors are responsible for the accuracy, novelty, and validity of their research results. During the manuscript's review by the journal's editorial board and reviewers, as well as after its publication, the authors undertake not to submit the manuscript for publication in another journal.

During the manuscript processing stages, communication between the editorial board, the corresponding author, and the reviewers is conducted exclusively through the online platform https://journals.cityu.edu.kz/.

The journal's editorial board reviews manuscripts submitted by the author(s), organizes their review, and makes a decision on publication or rejection within three weeks of the manuscript's receipt via the online platform.

Plagiarism

When reviewing a manuscript for compliance with formal requirements (manuscript formatting), the editorial board of a scientific journal also checks it for plagiarized text using a plagiarism checker.

Only original articles that are 75% or more original, as determined by the plagiarism checker, are sent for further review. If a manuscript does not meet the journal's formatting requirements and is not considered an original work based on the plagiarism check, the manuscript is returned to the author for correspondence so that appropriate changes can be made and the manuscript can be resubmitted for review by the editorial board via the journal's online platform.

If authors have used the work of other researchers in writing their article, they must cite these scholars' works and correctly format the cited text.

In the event of violations of the principles, standards, and norms of scientific ethics accepted by the international community, the editorial board of the journal undertakes to act in accordance with the standards of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Copyright

Authorship of the manuscript belongs to the researchers who directly participated in the manuscript's creation, conception, writing, and interpretation of the results, and who made a significant contribution to the scientific results.

Authors retain copyright to their manuscripts and permit others to freely download, reuse, reprint, modify, distribute, or copy them, provided that they acknowledge the authorship of the work and provide a link to the original publication in this journal. No permission from the authors or publisher is required for any of these actions, provided the journal is referenced.
Authors reserve the right to distribute their article in other sources, provided they provide a link to the original publication in this journal.

Disclosure Policy and Conflicts of Interest

Editors and reviewers are prohibited from using unpublished data from submitted manuscripts in their own research without the author's written consent.

Information or ideas obtained through peer review that may be advantageous must be kept confidential and not used for personal gain. Reviewers should not review manuscripts if they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors, companies, or other organizations associated with the submitted work.

Confidentiality Policy

The editors of the journal do not disclose information about manuscripts accepted for review to third parties other than designated reviewers before publication. The editors also do not disclose information about reviewers to authors or other individuals.

These and other standards of conduct for participants in the publication process—namely, the principles, norms, and standards of conduct for authors, editorial board members, publishers, and reviewers — are based on publication ethics accepted by the international community.
